Hi! I’m Heidi.

What is product design for me? Throughout my life, I have been driven by a passion to understand people on a deeper level, learn about their experiences, and create connections with them.

This passion for understanding people has led me to explore various fields, but I have always found myself drawn to the intersection of technology and human behavior. I even studied Biomedical Engineering for 4 years in high school! I was drawn to product design because it allows me to tap into my more creative side and still be able to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I am fascinated by how technology can be used to create experiences that are tailored to meet the needs of diverse individuals, allowing them to connect in meaningful ways.

In summary, my passion for understanding people and creating experiences that bring them valuable connections has led me to pursue a career in the tech industry. My ultimate goal is to become a leader in the industry and contribute to teams that will make big impacts on different communities and the lifestyles of our future generations. I am excited to embark on this journey and see where my passion and dedication can take me!

What's important to me...

Family

I was born on Guam, a small island where there isn’t much to do but spend time with the people around you. Both the Chamorro and Chinese sides of my family were large, meaning I had a lot of different influences from a young age. The two sides of my family are very different, yet they have the same values of hard work and respect. I value everything I’ve learned from them and feel motivated to be able to return all the love and support they’ve given me as I grow older.

Ambition

As a kid, I spent most of my time surrounded by businesses. After school and on the weekends, I was either at the jewelry store, the noodle house, or the Aflac office. I saw the hard work and passion that my parents and grandparents put into their careers and dreamed that one day I could have a similar passion of my own.

Humor

I love being surrounded by people who aren’t afraid to be unapologetically themselves! I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t crack an out-of-pocket joke once in a while and I always appreciate a friend who could do the same. :)

As a Designer, I always keep in mind the stories I tell within the solutions I create. 

I find design compelling because it perfectly blends my natural curiosity for problem-solving and creativity. I aspire to create products and experiences that will contribute to the stories that others will have to tell!
